reflection on photo essay

Image
I recently wrote a photo essay about a piece of property my family owns, and our current plans to renovate the property, starting with digging a path down through the valley its located in. I've been visiting the wooded piece of land since I was a child, and have since developed an admiration for its scenic beauty and untouched natural world. the only evidence of human contact in the area is a small rundown cabin sitting just above the roaring slippery rock creek. You can even sometimes find fossils along the creeks edge. If you want to read it, check out the essay here ! It may seem boring or uninteresting, but this property means a lot to me and my family, and I'm glad to be able to share a little bit of its history with my readers.

Photos for my photo essay

Here are some photos of the old cabin in the woods belonging to the Downie family. Each photo depicts a different angle of the building, showing the extent of the decay. Some are more recent than others, so one may also see a difference in the structures integrity over time.  A photo of John Fulmer looking out onto the autumn forest. Some photos of the scenery of the property, including the slippery rock creek. Here you can see the difference in the imagery between autumn, when the trees are bare, and spring, when the snow melts filling all the creeks and small reservoirs throughout the forest with water. A sign being posted marking the required permit to construct a lane down the side of the hill to the property.

Cabin in the Woods

for my photo essay I plan on writing a piece on the small piece of forest property owned by my grandparents. This property has been in my family for generations, and has a large amount of history behind it. The property was built in the 19th century by my great great grandfather, Robert M. Downie , engineer of the keystone drill. The property served as a camping ground for the family, and has been a popular vacation spot since. The property was divided into several different properties by the children of RM Downie, and has since become the home of many PA forest properties. My family owns one of these properties in Butler county PA. The years have not been kind to it however, and the property has since become dilapidated and all but abandoned. I plan on writing this photo essay on the ongoing plans the reestablish the property as a vacation spot for the family.

Imaginary world

In my imaginary world, people never learned how to hate. Fear does not exist because their is no hatred to be afraid of. In my world, people don not judge each other for the things they choose to do, who they choose to be or who they choose to love. In my world , the night is warm and inviting, the only things we have are those we need, and if you stop and listen, you can hear music through the trees. This world is like a story in the way that it's something to be achieved. This place does not exist, but if it did people would line up to find it, and if it could some would do whatever it takes to make it. This world is a goal that we can all strive for.
